Flyga i svinottan

Klockan halv tre på morgonen är jag sällan pigg numera och det verkar vara samma för de flesta här på flygplatsen i Goa. Nu har jag tagit mig igenom nästan alla kontroller:

• Först kollar militären att man ser schysst ut när man kommer med taxin. 
• Sen kollar nya militärer att man har biljett och pass som är okej. 
• Efter detta är det dags att skanna bagaget, här har varje flygbolag sin egen scanner i avgångshallen. Som bekräftelse på att bagaget är godkänt klistras flärparna till dragkedjan ihop med en klisterlapp. 
• Så dags att köa till incheckningen med sitt scannade bagage. Där checkar man in som överallt annars, fast man får små bagagetaggar till sitt handbagage som man måste fylla i och sätta fast. Här delas också utreseblanketten ut som man nogsamt måste fylla i. 
• Kö igen, nu till immigrationstjänstemännen som kollar pass, utreseblankett och boarding card samt stämplar dessa. 
• Ett par steg till kön till säkerhetskontrollen. Först kollar en tjänsteman stämplarna i pass och boarding card, två steg senare kollar en militär att man har pass och boardingcard. 
• I säkerhetskontrollen scannas du (och handbagaget), ditt boarding card och de små bagagetaggarna stämplas. 

Sen är du rätt trött och får pusta ut en stund vid gaten. Innan de släpper ut dig till den väntande bussen kollas alla dokument och stämplar igen!

Om en timme går mitt första flyg som är framme i Qatar en dryg timme senare fast flygtiden är fyra och en halv timma. När jag har kommit så långt är jag fullständigt förvirrad. Efter tre timmar där följer en något längre flygning till Stockholm och någonstans längs vägen "tjänar" jag ytterligare två timmar som antagligen gör mig ännu mer förvirrad!

At half past two AM I'm not very sharp nowadays and the same goes for most of the others here at Goa airport. Now, I've past most of the check points:

• First, a military check point were a soldier decide if you look ok before letting your taxi drive up to the departure terminal. 
• Then, a couple of other soldiers check that you have a valid ticket and passport. 
• After entering the building it's time to scan your luggage. Every airline has it's own scanner so be shure to pick the right one! To confirm that your bags are safe they put sticky labels over the zippers. 
• Next, stand in line to check in wich works pretty much in the same way as everywhere else, except they give you small tags to put on every piece of cabin luggage (important for the rest of the process) and an exit form to carefully fill in for immigration. 
• Then stand in line for immigration, where they check passport, boarding card and exit form and put stamps everywhere. 
• Line up for a security check. First an official check the stamps from immigration (5 meters before) in both passport and boarding card. Then, 1,5 meters further along, a soldier check your boarding card and passport. 
• At the security check point they scan you, and your cabin luggage, stamp the tags and the boarding card. 

Now, you are rather tired and you can relax for a little while at the gate. Before they let you on the bus to the aircraft they check everything once more!

In an hour my first flight leaves for Qatar. I'll be landing in just over an hour but the flight takes four and a half hours. Arriving that far I'm totally confused. After three hours in Qatar comes a slightly longer flight to Stockholm and on the way I "gain" another two hours which confuses me even more!
